Hi beauties! Today's post is all about lips! The skin on your lips is very thin and delicate. You have to make sure you care for this skin well, too! I have a very easy routine that I follow to make sure my lips are soft, supple, and smooth!
First of all beauties, this routine is 3 simple steps. It's that easy to care for your lips! I've tried just about everything to care for my lips. The skin on my lips tends to be very dry and cracks and chaps easily. While staying hydrated certainly helps, I've found that having a lipcare routine is the most beneficial. So let's jump right in!
Carla's Easy AF Lipcare Routine
1. Lip Scrub
Yes my friends, lip scrubs are real! And they are gentle enough to remove any dead skin on your lips. After you apply your lip scrub, remove it with a tissue. I've found that this is better than rinsing off the scrub.
I use my lip scrub once every day. I either use it in the morning when I wake up, or right before I start my makeup. It just depends on when my lips are the most dry and cracked.
Here's a photo of the current lip scrub I am using. I've found quite a few great lip scrubs out there, so don't be afraid to look around!
2. Lip Mask
Beauties, they even make masks for lips! And boy did I need this product in my life. My poor lips get so dry and cracked, they need a lot of love. Lip masks are great because they provide a thick layer of hydration!
My most favorite lip mask ever is the Laneige Sleep Care Lip Sleeping Mask. I love this so much that sometimes I even use it as my lip balm for the day! I've tried numerous lip masks and so far, this is the only one that actually works on my stubborn lips.
3. Maintaining Soft, Smooth Lips
Beauties, this is work. For myself, it's very necessary work because my lips dry out and crack very easily. It doesn't matter if I wear lipstick or not. (However, I have noticed that matte liquid lipsticks completely destroy my lips by the end of the day.) I've tried every lip balm on the planet and I've found that nothing works for me personally. That doesn't mean that you can't find a lip balm for you! I always recommend trying out a few lip balms before making your decision.
The only product that works well for me right now is Bag Balm, believe it or not. It maintains soft, smooth skin for a long period of time.
Again, beauties just because this particular product works for me, does not mean that the other products out there won't work for you. Sometimes it's just a matter of trial and error before you find your favorite lip balm!
When You Wear Lipstick or Lip Gloss
I wanted to quickly talk about wearing lipstick and lip gloss. I always recommend using a lip scrub right before you apply these products, to insure long-lasting color and smooth, kissable lips!
I've found personally that wearing cream lipsticks and/or lip gloss work best with my lipcare routine. Again, you can wear whatever lip products you desire, but this is what has worked best for my particular situation.
