Hi beauties! I know you've been waiting for this one!! In this blog, I will talk about my favorite bronzers! To start, I absolutely love bronzer! I love a naturally, sun-kissed look for my personal makeup application. Cue the bronzer! I love that when applied correctly, bronzer gives you the appearance that you've just come back from vacation, without all of the sun damage.
The last time bronzer was popular was back in the 1990s. It has made a resurgence because a lot of people use it for contouring purposes. While it works well for those who have light skin with a warm undertone, bronzer doesn't work for all when it comes to contouring. Bronzer is applied on specific areas of the face to create that warm, sun-kissed finish. You'll look like you just came back from vacay!
First, my favorite powder bronzer. I absolutely adore Benefit's Hoola bronzer! I purchase the original shade. I love so many things about this bronzer! Here are my favorite aspects of this bronzer:
Beauties, this is a true bronze. It's not often that you find a true tan-brown color! More often than not, bronzers look either too gray and chalky or way too orange. This color is just right because it is a true tan-brown shade. Get the warm, sun-kissed look you've been craving!
2. A Matte Finish
Now beauties, while I love to be glowy, I do not love shine or sparkle in my bronzer. I love a matte finish, so my skin looks naturally tanned. This powder does the trick!
3. Product Size
Benefit actually makes a full size and a mini. (They even had a limited edition jumbo size, which is the size featured in my photos.) Now you can be a bronzed goddess on-the-go! And honestly, I use the full-size in my kit. And beauties, holy smokes!! It really lasts a long time! It takes me a full year to hit pan on this product!!!
I recently also found that Benefit has expanded their shade range to include shades for a wider range of skin tones: light, medium (original), tan, and dark.
For those of you who are ballin' on a budget: I also recently found that Maybelline makes an incredible dupe. I also have Maybelline City Bronzer in shade 300 (included in the first photo at the top of the page). I really like this formula because it is very similar to Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I specifically like shade 300 because it gives me sun-kissed warmth that looks authentic for my skin tone and undertone.
I've also recently found out that NARS has come out with a new powder bronzer, but have yet to try it. However, based on their social media posts and advertising, the color looks gorgeous. I am expecting to try it out soon and will update this blog when I do!
And for those of you who don't like powders, here are a few cream bronzers that I like.
Chanel Soleil De Tan Chanel Bronze Universal is the most beautiful creme bronze. You get a beautiful, authentic sun-kissed warmth as the result. This beautiful creme is sparkle-free, which aids in an authentic tanned look. This is a universal bronzer, which will work on most skin tones. I have seen multiple makeup artists apply this product with a large fluffy brush.
Laura Mercier Soleil Matte Veil Creme is a beautiful creme bronze. I love that this is a matte bronzer to once again offer an authentic sun-kissed warmth. The website recommends applying this product with your fingers or a large fluffy brush.
Milk Makeup Matte Bronzer is a lovely creme bronzer that comes in stick form. They offer both a full size and a mini. This is perfect when you are on the go and need to apply bronzer in a flash. I recommend applying the bronzer onto your skin directly from the stick then buffing with fingers. Work in pieces with this product beauties!
So beauties, that's it! There are some fantastic bronzers out there. I have given you quite a few options to work with here. Let's shop these options together and find the bronzer that is best for you. Once you have it, it's time for a MAKEUP LESSON! I will teach you how to appropriately apply your bronzer. Everyone will think you just came back from your Carribbean vacation!
