Research
So before I even started teaching makeup lessons to every day people, I had to research on the best ways to even host makeup classes! It may sound silly, but this is something that I didn't even know how to do at first. Remember, I'm a makeup artist by trade, not a teacher, so this was a learning experience for sure.
I also research the latest makeup trends online, makeup products, and other things that I feel may be relevant to my clients when they are ready to learn how to apply their own makeup. Sometimes, it is even related to topics like psychology and self image.
Selecting Items & Methods
Now this one seems a little technical for teaching your how to apply your own makeup, but I promise you, it's so relevant to preparing for your makeup class. I want to make sure that the items I have on-hand in case needed are the best ones for you. I also want to make sure that I am hosting your makeup class in a way that helps you learn the best. Remember that these steps are necessary for you to have the best session possible. I want you to leave your makeup class with your cup full of knowledge and feeling at ease and confident.
Physical Setup
This is a really important aspect on my end as your makeup teacher. I want to setup a space for you that is private, clean, comfortable, and appropriate for your makeup class. This is your time, and I want to help you easily settle into learning mode, whatever that may look like for you. We also need room to spread your makeup collection out so we can go through each item, and select the best products to create your makeup look.
Education
Yes beauties, in addition to research, I do take classes myself! I learn from those who have paved the way before me in the world of makeup artistry. I take classes to brush up on all areas of makeup artistry: makeup application, teaching, color theory, makeup for photography, etc.! These classes help me stay up to date, and also to pass my knowledge onto you all, should you need it in class!
Overall Experience
So this one is probably the most obvious, but experience really matters, especially when you are learning. I try my best to create a great experience for each one of you.
