How Staying Hydrated Daily Results In Beautiful Skin!

Hey beauties! Beautiful skin is the best canvas for makeup! When you have flawless, hydrated skin, your makeup looks better and lasts longer! That's right beauties, when you drink enough water daily, your result is gorgeous, long-lasting makeup! It's really that simple! Here are my tips and tricks to staying hydrated daily!

While I am in no way a health expert, I have done some extensive research on this topic. Drinking water obviously has a lot of health benefits. According to my research, it's also a necessity for your body, as it is made up of about 70% water. It improves your brain functions by helping your blood vessels expand and helps supply oxygen to the brain, so it works properly. It also helps by lubricating and cushioning the joints, making movements easy. It may be beneficial for weight loss, too! And also, it helps your body rid of waste via urination, perspiration, and bowel movements. (sources: CDC & Branford Hall Career Institute)





On the skincare side of the equation: drinking enough water daily may help in a few different ways:


1. A Youthful Glow

That's right, beauties! Staying hydrated will give your skin a youthful glow! Linking back to my science-based research: water hydrates cells and is absorbed into the bloodstream. Remember earlier that I mentioned our blood vessels and oxygen? Once water is absorbed into your cells and bloodstream, it expands blood vessels. Now oxygen and blood are flowing smoothly through your body. They work together to help create the result: youthful glowing skin!

2. Softer, Smoother Skin

When your skin is dehydrated, it gets really tight and dries up. Yes my friends, your skin can resemble the desert when you aren't drinking enough water. Your skin will tighten up, dry up, and even become flaky. The result is that you actually look older! Your skin will appear wrinkled because of dehydration. By drinking enough water daily, you can avoid this issue.



3. Elasticity

While there isn't a ton of information on this topic, it is relevant. By staying hydrated, you maintain the elasticity, or bounce, of your skin! Think about it: when you are hydrated and you tap the skin, it immediately bounces back. When you are dehydrated, the skin doesn't quite bounce back. remember how I just mentioned wrinkling? Just another result of dehydration!

First of all: how much water is enough water daily?


The general recommendation is half your weight in ounces. The average glass of water is 8 fl. oz. For example: if you weigh 120 lbs, you need to drink 60 oz of water daily. This equates to 7.5 glasses of water daily.



So how can you get into the habit of staying hydrated daily? I am so glad you asked! I have worked hard on maintaining staying hydrated daily. It's been my mission for the past 7 years to do everything right in order to main regular hydration. I have a few proven successful methods that I use to stay hydrated daily. Here are my methods:

1. There's an app for that!

Yes beauties, there is! In the age of smartphones. you'll never forget to drink water again! These apps notify you throughout the day to drink your water!

2. A Reusable Water Bottle

Having a water bottle on-hand all day long has been super helpful! It's always right by my side when I need a sip! In fact, this is my most successful method behind staying hydrated. When it's right in front of you, you always remember to take a sip!


I have a fun water bottle from my favorite sports team! I recommend purchasing a really cute reusable water bottle that can hold roughly 3 glasses of water. It makes drinking water a little bit easier because it's a cute accessory for your look! And you can refill your bottle once it empties!

3. Fruit Water

Sometimes drinking plain old water can be a bit boring. Don't be afraid to put your favorite fruits into your reusable water bottle as well! I love to put lemons and strawberries in mine! I recommend using your favorite fruit combinations to create tasty water that is good for you!





An important note: Remember beauties, this will take time. I would give it at least one week of steady hydration before you start seeing results. Once you are in a routine, this process will be so easy, you'll be telling all of your friends. They'll want all of my secrets, too!
