How To Find The Right Mascara For You

Hey beauties, welcome back to Creative Contour By Carla! Today I am going to give you some easy advice on how to find the right mascara for your individual needs. Now before we get into it, a quick reminder that this is my professional advice, and that other professional makeup artists may have different advice. You need to take the advice that resonates with you the most.

Alright, now that we've gotten that out of the way, let's get into the good stuff!

So beauties, what should you consider when finding the right mascara for your unique needs?

Purpose of the Product

Yup, we're starting with the most important part of your search beauties: what does the mascara do? Is it lengthening? Voluminizing? Curling? The purpose of the mascara is where to start your research, because mascaras are not created equal and do different things. So before you even consider what you want out of a mascara, you want to do a general search of mascaras overall and see what purposes they have!

Your Goals

Ah, now we're onto you! The reason why I mentioned your mascara goals second is that you may have multiple ones, and if you have all these ideas in your head before you start your search, you'll probably end up being really overwhelmed and just give up point blank.

So, after you've seen some of the purposes of mascaras out there, reflect on what it is you want them to do for you. Everyone's needs are different. Now you'll also notice how I am saying to reflect on what it is that you want from mascara, versus what they can do for you. We are not in the game of changing because society tells us to, we are in the game of working with what we've got and what we want to achieve with it, okay?!

Your Morals/Personal Views

The reason why this is relevant is because everyone has different views. Some folks prefer to shop all natural or organic beauty products, others don't care. Some people prefer beauty products from certain countries, and the like. Reflect on what your morals and personal views are, and research accordingly.

As a working makeup artist, I specifically look for makeup products that are heavy duty and can last through tears, sweat, weather changes, humidity, and the like. I need products that get the job done and can work for multiple people at one job. I wanted to give you myself as an example so you can reflect on your own views!

Price Point

Ah, we've saved the best for last! Deep down, we all know what numbers sound good in our own minds, when it comes to shopping. However, the price point you think of may not necessarily reflect the prices out there. I recommend considering how valuable you consider mascara to be in your makeup routine. If it's a high priority, that's a product you want to make room for in your budget. I cannot tell you how to prioritize makeup products, unless you decide how you value each one.
