Hey beauties! This topic is such a fun one! So while I admit, it really doesn't have anything to do with makeup, you know once you leave my chair you will be snapping all the selfies!

My friends, there are a few factors to consider when snapping selfies: how you look (I got your makeup), lighting, and angles! Once you figure out these factors, you are ready to snap your selfie! And be ready for it to look fantastic!!

So let's jump right in and talk about how to take the best selfie!

How You Look

Like I said, I have your back when it comes to makeup! No need to worry about that at all! However, if you're like me, you're thinking about your teeth, hair, and what you are wearing! (Ugh, aren't we all though.) I recommend planning out these things. I like to brush my teeth first, before I do anything else. I feel refreshed and better knowing my mouth and teeth are clean.

Next, I style my hair. I am not someone who is saavy with hair styling, so I normally choose a style that I already know I can achieve within a short period of time. I also know my hair very well. Most people know their own hair texture very well, and know what styles they can achieve easily.

Onto the outfit! I like to pick cute tops and bottoms because I know more likely than not that you will see my bottoms in my selfie. (Shoutout to all my fellow shorties, this is our problem lol!) I also like to accessorize when I snap selfies. Usually that just means a cute headband and some earrings for myself, but everyone has their own unique style!

Beauties, lighting is so important when snapping your selfies. After all, if you don't have good lighting, how we will see your beautiful face?! You can use natural lighting or artificial lighting. Here are some of my tips for both!

Natural light: snap your selfies during the day to really utilize natural lighting! If you are inside, I recommending standing or sitting about 2-5 feet away from a window where direct sunlight is shining. Natural daylight is the most flattering for your selfies.

If you decide to snap some selfies outside, face towards direct sunlight to the best of your abilities. Make sure that any shaded areas are behind you.

I ultimately like to snap selfies when I am catching the most light onto my face.

And lastly, angles! Beauties, angles can be hard to achieve. So try your best with this one. I always recommend holding your phone a little higher than your face in order create a flattering angle. So basically, what you want to do is hold your phone about 45 degrees higher than your face, so you have to angle your face up towards the phone camera. This will enhance your face shape and is a super flattering angle!

That's all, folks! While I know advice on how to snap a selfie may seem a bit vain, everyone takes them nowadays. I hope you find these tips super helpful!
