Hey beauties! Is it me, or are you hearing so many wedding bells right now?! I know I am! So now that you are in preparation and planning mode for your wedding, let's talk about your wedding day makeup and what you can do to prepare!

So first of all, when it comes to booking wedding makeup, the sooner the better. Once you know who you want to book, book them. Dates fly off the shelf (especially as we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel regarding the covid19 pandemic). Once you have them booked, it's time to prepare for your wedding day makeup!

And yes my beautiful brides-to-be, you should start preparing as far in advance as possible for your wedding day makeup. This may seem silly, but your skin will look its absolute best on your wedding day and you will be seeing these photos for the rest of your life, so you want yo look good! And that my friends leads me to my tips on how to prepare for your wedding day makeup!

Book Your Wedding Makeup Trial

Beauties, I am listing this first because it is very important to schedule yourself a makeup trial. Your wedding makeup trial is the test run of your wedding day makeup! during your trial, you will get a feel of your full wedding day makeup look. In my professional opinion, you are better off testing the look, even if you have the utmost confidence in your makeup artist.

Your makeup trial is also a great time to get to know your makeup artist! While email and phone calls are great methods of communication, there is nothing quite like getting to know your makeup artist when sitting in their chair. Makeup is a very intimate service and you want to make sure you are comfortable with your artist.

Start Your Skincare Routine

Beauties, get started! Having a skincare routine is very important and ensures that your makeup will look great and last long. It also helps your skin look beautiful. Which means you'll have that natural, bridal glow in all of your photos! You'll receive so many compliments long after your wedding is over!

I have a simple routine that works for everyone. I understand that you are a busy lady and only have a certain amount of time each day to get things done!

Stay Hydrated

Stay hydrated is so underrated, beauties. Water is a necessity for our bodies, including our skin! Your skin is your largest organ and it protects you from all sorts of things. Show it some love by staying hydrated daily! I recommend filling a reusable water bottle twice each day. This is roughly 6-8 glasses of water daily.

So beauties, these techniques can be applied ASAP. Even if you don't have a makeup artist chosen, start implementing these tips now. You won't regret it!

Now let's talk about the month or so leading up to your wedding day.

Beauty Treatments

Each beauty vendor will make specific recommendations for when to have other beauty treatments before your wedding. If you are seeing these folks regularly, they may take you closer to your wedding because they are already familiar with you.

If you are scheduling these treatments for the first time ever, make sure to give yourself time. I recommend one month or so before your wedding-- depending on the treatment. Of course make sure to ask the vendor what their recommendation is to ensure the best quality and life of the treatment!

Scheduling

Beauties, this will ensure that your wedding day goes smoothly! Having a schedule to stick to will be a relief once things really get going. Trust me. The mornings always start slow, and then somewhere around 2 hours in, things are very busy and time is flying by! It is the same for every single wedding day.

Having a schedule will help you keep track of all of the things that are happening at once. And you'll also be a little more relaxed knowing what is happening when.

Keep a detailed list

Beauties, having a list of everything is very helpful in general. On your wedding day, you'll feel so much better as you start crossing things off the list!! You'll know everything that is going on at that time, and what needs to happen next! It will be such a relief!!

So beauties, these are my tips! Take care of yourselves and make sure you are on top of things so that way your wedding day goes smoothly! I want to be there for you and laugh with you on your special day! And as always, if you have any questions, please ask! Don't hesitate to send me an email: creativecontourbycarla@gmail.com. I want to be there for you!

Lots of love and lipstick,

Carla
