Hey beauties, welcome back to Creative Contour By Carla™! Today's blog is for anyone who hosts events. When you are hosting an event, it can be difficult to find the right vendors and speakers for your event. I'm writing this blog today to shed some light on why it is beneficial to offer a live makeup demonstration at your event!
First of all: what is a live makeup demonstration? It's exactly what it sounds like: I come in and teach your audience a new makeup look, live! Live makeup demonstrations are informative, yet fun and light. The beauties love makeup, and the makeup loves beauties!
So what are the benefits of a live makeup demonstration?
First off, they're informative. More often than not, quite a few people in audiences love makeup, but they aren't sure what steps to take to achieve a certain look, or are unsure of what techniques work best for them. Instead of sending your audience to youtube, have them learn live from a professional, experienced makeup artist! While we can't give every audience member the exact blueprint of how to apply their unique makeup look, we can teach them valuable information on their makeup style, or even help them understand why each person needs their own unique makeup routine (versus following the same "copy and paste" from social media).
Second, they're fun! We want a happy, engaged audience at our events, so bringing something fun like a makeup demonstration will liven up your audience! I personally can attest to the fact that by the time we are halfway through a demonstration, I've seen audiences come alive!! It's great!
Third, they're unique. How many makeup artists do you know of that do this? In my experience, not too many. Every where I go, people ask me all sorts of questions about makeup in general. So when I show up at events, I find that audience members are truly intrigued, engaged, and have a lot of questions at the end of the demonstration. People love makeup, and want to learn as much as they can!
Fourth, the experience of it all happening. In my at least 10 years' experience as a makeup artist, people love to watch makeup being applied. It seems as though it is this wonder and awe! People are so impressed when they see me applying makeup, they normally will hang around and watch me do my thing! This is actually one of the reasons why I started to offer this option is because people love watching makeup being applied.
I've found that the audience really enjoys watching the process, even if it's a simple makeup look that requires no efforts. For audiences, it's an experience to watch the process, my techniques, and understand basic concepts. It's so interesting to see happen in real time!
So why is a live makeup demonstration beneficial for your event? It keeps your audience engaged throughout your event! Everyone enjoys each of the speakers on the stage, and then they have this fun, interesting, unique concept being presented to them! They'll rave about it for a long time after your event as well!!
