Hey beauties, welcome back to Creative Contour By Carla™! Today, I am explaining why multi-use makeup products will be saving you money in the long run. So as you may have read on my previous blog post, most makeup products can be considered "multi-use." Yes, the phrase itself is self explanatory. When you learn how to effectively use your makeup products in a manner that provides multiple uses, you will save money in the long-run. There are additional benefits I will also get into in this blog post as well, but the main point here is that multi-use makeup products will save you money!
First, let me state this: influencers and social media will have you in a tizzy, buying everything. They tell you that every product or tool has a separate purpose. And you know what, they are correct! But from a professional makeup artist's perspective, they are selling you more stuff. Influencers are paid by brands and agencies to sell to you. So next time you see your favorite influencer, keep this idea in mind. It's not just for makeup, either. I have seen influencers making more and more sales, and not necessarily giving honest testimonials anymore, which is really sad. Any of us who have ventured down that road felt immediate pressure to do this type of selling, myself included. Once I realized what was being asked of me, I went back to my professional roots, and focused on makeup artistry. Ever since, it has been necessary for me to teach you all the best ways to not only find great makeup products, but also teach you this information that we are discussing in today's blog. I want you as a consumer to be the most informed and make great decisions!
Okay, back to the good stuff!
Now that we got that out of the way, let me first discuss some of the benefits of using your makeup products in multiple ways.
Environmental Benefits
While the beauty industry is one of the main contributors to climate change, you can show this industry with your purchase power to change their ways. Using your makeup products in multiple ways will certainly send a strong message to the beauty industry. When you use your makeup products in multiple ways, you save a lot of packaging from going into landfills, and other places. You buy less, and throw out less!
(A friendly reminder that you can indeed recycle your old beauty containers, I've discussed many ways how to do this in older blog posts.)
It's Easier On You
Let me get right to the point on this one: the less products you have, the easier it is for you to not only wear makeup, but less mental load! You don't have to think about your makeup as much, because you know how to effectively use the products you have. Less stress is always a win in my book!
Less Clutter
Self explanatory, but I know my beauties!! The less stuff you accumulate, the more space you have, both mentally and physically! I'm telling you this because I am on your side! I want you to feel good about your makeup routine, wearing makeup, and storing your makeup!
Easing Financial Burden
Beauties, I am writing this blog today to help you maintain great makeup, but also to make it easy for you. When you know how to make your makeup products be multi-use, you make it easier on your wallet! We all could save a couple bucks left and right. Like I mentioned before, influencers are paid by makeup companies and agencies to sell you lots of product. The best way to relieve the pressure of constantly feeling like you need to buy stuff is to find multiple ways to use your makeup.
I am going to break down a few great examples of this.
Example 1:
Let's say you purchase a cream foundation. Cream foundation is very pigmented and extremely buildable. You can use that cream foundation as its namesake duty, as a concealer, and also a base for eye makeup. You may have spent $50 on the product, but you use it for 3 different tasks in your makeup look. When we do the math, you "spent" about $17 on each product, and you get a lot of use out of it. So in reality, it's money well spent, and it takes up less room in your makeup bag!
Example 2:
You find a great mascara, that does all the things you need it to, yay great! You also find the formula to be a great consistency. A week or so later, your eyeliner runs out, and you don't notice until you are getting ready for an event. You don't have time to run to the makeup store, or you'll be late for your event. You have to take matters into your own hands, so you grab your smallest, skinniest makeup brush, and dip into that mascara. It ends up working out really well!
And guess what, you paid about $30 for that mascara, and here you are getting two great uses out of it! You're looking at $15 "spent" on each product. You love the result, so you keep doing this routine, until your mascara runs out. Now, you've gotten your money's worth, and used up that great mascara. And guess what else! You have more room in your makeup bag because you have less bottles!
Beauties, it is examples like this that remind us that multi-use makeup products really are the best options. They're practical, and save you money! As your favorite makeup artist, I am always here to help you. I want you to love makeup as much as I do!
