Boston Brides: Why You Should Have Your Hair & Makeup Trials On The Same Day

Updated: Apr 30, 2021

Hey there beauties! Happy #makeupmonday! Today's topic is important and beneficial for all of you Boston brides-to-be who are thinking about scheduling your hair and makeup trials! I know we are living in an uncertain time, but please make sure you understand that having both wedding hair and makeup trials are important.

So first of all, you absolutely must have a hair and makeup trial before your wedding day. If you aren't sure why, take a minute to read my previous blog post discussing the important factors of bridal makeup trials after you're done here.

Today I want to discuss why it is important to have both your wedding hair and makeup trials on the same day.

Beauties and brides-to-be, it's important that you understand that the early parts of your wedding day will be the busiest, specifically when getting ready with your crew. I always recommend having separate hair and makeup vendors (this includes hair and makeup teams). It will help the day start off with a calm, easy flow. Also understand that when hiring two separate professionals for both hair and makeup, you are in the hands of experts. What this means is that if something happens to go wrong while you are getting ready, we will try our hardest to get you ready on-time! I can't tell you how many times myself and the hair stylist have had the bride sit down in one chair while we worked simultaneously to finish her look on-time! Beauties, sometimes it happens. While we don't want that to happen on your day, just know that we are as prepared as can be!

With that being said, let's talk about why it's best for you to have both your wedding hair and makeup trial on the same day. I brought in one of my go-to hair stylists, Lauren Rossi, to provide the best tips for scheduling your hair and makeup trials on the same day.

Here are our three main points on why you should have your wedding hair and makeup trials on the same day:

1. You Save Time

That's right beauties. While it may take a little bit of effort to schedule hair and makeup trials with separate vendors, it's worth it to to have both trials on the same day! You actually save time because you can either have both vendors travel to your home, or you can try to coordinate your trial to take place at one site. (If you are interested in having both trials done at one site, just let me know! Myself and Lauren normally schedule hair and makeup trials on the same day, at one site.)

2. You Will See Your Full Wedding Look

Because you have both your wedding hair and makeup trials on the same day, you will get an idea of your overall wedding look. This is so important because you will see your vision come to life! You also get the opportunity to communicate any changes, if you desire.

3. You Can Wear Your Look For The Rest Of The Day

If you don't know this by now beauties, your wedding day is a long one. Having both your hair and makeup trials on the same day will help you see how your hair style sits and how your makeup wears. This is beneficial because if they don't sit the way you like, we as your beauty vendors can give you tips and tricks on how to prepare your hair and makeup for the wedding day! Of course we also do this before the trial, but we can speak specifically to your unique style, so you reap the benefits to have long-lasting makeup and hair! And as mentioned before, if you desire any changes, you will have worn your full look to get an idea of what may need to be fixed.

In conclusion beauties, it's a smart decision to schedule your wedding hair and makeup trials on the same day if you can! Remember that both Lauren and I are here for you. We will try our hardest to work with your schedule to get both trials on the same day so you can wear your full wedding look. And of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
